Bonded downstream channels

Greensboro NC.... Starter TV, Standard Internet (15Mbps), Motorola SB6141 with latest firmware SB_KOMODO-1.0.6.14-SCM01, TP-Link wireless router TL-WR741ND with latest firmware.

Why does my modem signal page sometimes show 7 bonded downstream channels, and other times 8 channels?

Copy and paste the modems signal and error log pages, don't reset it, need to see the actiual history, it's going to be ingress or weak levels or both

It was just reset yesterday afternoon by a TWC tech, so logs are erased.  I have screenshots for the days before, but I see no way to attach a screenshot to a post here.

I think you have broadcast TV ingress from a bad, loose, corroded connection or extra splitters with open ports. It's whyy there's channels skipped and one has a lower s/n

 

 

Unplug the modem for 5 minutes, plug it back in then post the signal page again.. Might be able to catch the ingress before the channels get dumped.

The shot of the signals after the Monday tech visit show 8 channels right after the modem reboot then.  Does that help?

 

I DO have an unterminated cable from when I had a third TV I don't have anymore.

You're having broadcast tv ingress, somethings corroded or loose, or the outside line is chewed up.

 Is iit overhead and running thriugh tree branches?

Tree rodents and raptors chewed it up or it's abraided by the branches.

You had 8 ch's in a row untill noise spikes/ingress took those channels out twice

The tech checked all the connections here on Monday, nothing loose or corroded.  He also went up on the line outside next door west of me, looking for issues.  There is some of the neighborhood line going through a tree next door in the other direction (east of me) but he said it was after my house in the line.

 

Can my unterminated unused third TV cable, from the tap in the TWC box on my house, be causing this?  Iused to have a third TV but now the cable is not attached to anything..... just sitting there coming through my kitchen floor.  Do I need a 75 ohm terminator cap on that?

Ok, use that as a benchmark, repost the levels in tthe morning, note if it's windy overnight, let's see what the correcteds and uncorrecteds do.   And worst yet, if channels disapear and are replaced with ch's 9 and up.

 

You have 8 channels right in a row which is good

 SB 6121/41 have 500-600 uncorrecteds at startup when they're trying to autolevel the upstream power
