What Happen to Laff TV on Channel 1265?

As of 3/30/2018, the channel known as Laff TV, in Waterville Maine has been magically removed from the line up. all that shows up on the screen now is "Programming on this network is no longer available". Can anyone explain why this was removed and not replaced with something else ? I have basic basic cable and can't afford the massive amount that Spectrum charges each month for more channels.

Laff TV is an over-the-air (broadcast) network usually run as a sub-channel of one of your local TV stations. You don't say what city you're in, but your local station probably stopped carrying the network.

I want to know this too.  Laff TV was one of my most watched channels and I was shocked to see it gone.

I could tell you in 30 seconds but no one is telling us what city you're in.

WPME in Portland/Westbrook carried LAFF-TV and was on channel 1265.

On March 29, 2018, WPME was sold to Ion Networks and their call sign was changed to WIPL.

MyNetwork, Escape, and LAFF were moved to the subchannels of WPXT on March 22, 2018.

When Spectrum renews its carriage agreement with WPXT they will also have to decide on whether or not to carry WPXT's subchannels, which are 51.2 MeTV, 51.3 MyNetwork (WPME), 51.4 Escape, and 51.5 LAFF.

I have a similar situation in Charlotte NC where Spectrum doesn't consistently carry every subchannel that is offered over the air in the market.

Someone should point out that the owners of each of those subchannels can charge Spectrum a "carriage fee"of any amount they wish for transmitting their program content over Spectrum cable TV.  If the owners get greedy, Spectrum is allowed to, and likely will, drop those channels, and there's nothing the subscribers can do about it.
