On demand for network shows

Why are there network shows that premiered in late September only showing episode 1 and it is there weeks later. On abc how to get away with murder is not even listed.Since the spectrum change the situation has gotten worse, withvtwc the delay varied from 3-5 days.I see commercials on TV in zip 27104 touting on demand as a benefit but in actuality it stinks

On Demand content is licensed and the networks determine when the content is made available.  Often, networks will have content available on their websites and apps prior to releasing to the cable provider.  In most cases, you can access the network app with the same credentials you use for your Spectrum account.
