Inappropriate Titles

I am completely disappointed that Time Warner Cable allows extremely dirty descriptive titles of their porn channels to be displayed for kids to see. Are you kidding me ??

As I'm writing this, it almost sounds like an SNL comedy segment, but unfortunately its on full display in Spectrum's guide list.

Time Warner Cable, how about you be considerate of your viewers with young kids?

Hello,

Spectrum is and has always been comitted to protecting children and families from seeing this kind of content.  The older SA model boxes (SA-8300's)  did have an Adult catagory in the Theme section.  The newer boxes have keyboards that block this kind of content.  Two questions first:

1.) Where are you seeing these Adult Titles?  (On the keyboard results, on the Time Grid  in the Guide, or both?)

2.) What is the make and model of your cable box?

Regardless of box type, all of the Spectrum Cable Boxes have Parental Control blocking features that can be actived, as well as optional pin-number set up for On Demand and Pay-Per View purchases.

The General instructions for Parental Control are as follows:

1.) Press Settings on your Remote Control.

2.) Find Parental Control Settings.

3.) You can block by Title, Channel, Rating, or Content.

4..) Note that if you block by rating, let's say for example R, and you turn on Parental Control.  Any R-rated movie will require a parental control pin number to be entered  as wll as all ratings ABOVE the R-rating.  (Such as X, NC-17, and Adult.)

5.) In Settings choose the blocking categories that you wish to block.  Content refers to Language, Nudity, or Violence in shows.

6.) Blocking Titles will hide the adult titles from the screen, but on some cable box guides MAY NOT RESTRICT VIEWING.  To do that, you would need to set up a Rating Block, Content Block or both.

7.) During Parental Control Set up, you will be asked to enter a four-digit pin number.  You want a pin number that is easy to remember but hard for kids to guess.  Keep this number in a safe place.  This is known as a Parental Control Blocking Pin, and it must be entered before blocked content can be viewed.

8.) The default blocking pin is usually 0000, but this can be changed in the prompts if needed.  Confirm your changes  in the prompts.

9.) Turn on parental controls in Settings.  This is needed for them to work!

10.) If you ever forget your Parental Control Blocking pin, call Customer Care, and they will help reset your pin number.
