Bring Back the Movies! Channel

Spectrum just dropped the only movie channel available on the basic package, and replaced it with a really boring "comedy" channel.  For shame, Spectrum!  Please bring back the Movies! channel for Southern Maine, and stop cheapening your channel lineup.  You owe your customers a basic spread of decent programming, in return for all the money we spend.

Not Spectrum's call.   "movies!" is a digital sub-net, typically given first right to carry on Fox Owned and Operated TV Channels, which would typically be either a FOX station, or a My Network Station.  If one of these stations isn't carrying it, then it is offered up to independent stations in the market.

Spectrum's carriage deal is with the local broadcasting station.  The deal is for the primary channels, and maybe some or all of the sub-channels, or possibly none.  "movies!" would be a sub-channel.  Spectrum will carry what the local station provides.  If the local station dumped Movies! for other programming, you will need to take it up with the local station, and not the cable company.

Apparently WPME-TV is no longer carrying "Movies!".  If you visit their website, they show MOVIES! programming as "unavailble".  Their carriage agreement expired.  You need to take it up with WPME management, and not the cable company.
