removing pc from Mcafee Anti Virus

Hi there, Was wondering how do you remove a computer from Time Waner's Mcafee Installer? I see no way to remove a computer. You can rename a computer. But not remove.

Its actually not ours, its McAfees. We just have a deal worked out with them to provide free basic protection, but everything you do on our website to get McAfee gets routed through McAfee. You would want to reach out to them. Have you completely uninstalled the McAfee software from the computer you are trying to remove? Because you will not be able to remove a device off your list until that is done as well as there is a limit to how many devices can be simultaneously protected for free.

In addition to this,

McAfee has been known to be bloated and offer only average protection.  Make sure you only have one Anti Virus on your system at one time.  More than one will conflict.  I would recommend removing the McAfee software, ALL McAfee software through Control Panel Add/Remove Programs.

After doing that, reboot your computer.

Than Run the McAfee Consumer Removal Tool.  Download it here:

Reboot your computer again.

If you need a new Antivirus program, and are running Windows Vista to Windows 7, I would recommend Microsoft Security Essentials. Lightweight and non-intrusive:

OR the free version of Bit Defender here: (Still Works with Windows XP to Windows 10.)

DO NOT INSTALL BOTH!

If you have Windows 8 to Windows 10, follow the steps above to remove McAfee Products, reboot your computer, run the McAfee Consumer Removal Tool, reboot again.

Than you can either search for Windows Defender.  (Free AV, built into Windows 8-10)  Open it up, activate it, update the definitions, and run a scan.

OR

Keep Windows Defender turned off, and download Bit Defender Free:  Install the program.

I used to recommend Avast, but have found it to be too bloated with later versions.
